So the Martin Standard Series aren’t just called that – this is the standard that everything else is measured by. Highest quality, tried and true tonewoods, spruce tops and genuine mahogany or East Indian rosewood back and sides – needless to say, all solid – make these guitars an absolute dream for any guitarist. Many of these original Martin shapes have been out there for over a century and all of them have undergone continuous tweaks and improvements over time. When Martin first introduced his revolutionary SC-shape, it was originally only available from Mexican series. Now, however, after it proved itself for several years and keeps on growing in popularity, it is time to introduce Standard models, from the Nazareth, PA workshop.
The SC-18E has all the attributes of its sisters, namely the innovative, asymmetrical shape and the completely redesigned bracings, for higher resistance to feedback, even at high stage volumes. Furthermore, it has the Sure Align ® neck system, allowing easy corrections to the neck angle and intonation (through a certified service person) and the deep cutaway, which facilitates access to the highest frets, only possible on electric guitars so far.
Besides a solid spruce top, this model features solid, genuine mahogany back and sides and the superior craftmanship of the Martin Factory in Pennsylvania.
