Special occasions ask for special guitars. That’s why Martin releases Limited Editions of guitars with special features such as rare tonewoods, unique design and construction features or impressive artwork. No matter if you’re a collector or just want to play a really extraordinary guitar, this is the series to look for.

As you (hopefully) know, C.F. Martin & Co. is the oldest existing guitar company in the world. In fact, Martin have been shaping the development of the acoustic guitar for 190 years now. During that time, they have been ahead of their competitors in many aspects, such as new guitar shapes, construction and sustainability. In fact, Martin have began producing sustainably long before sustainability even was a thing. The D-19 190th Anniversary Model is a reprise of those earliest stints in sustainability. C.F. Martin IV himself, will explain the new model:
“One hundred and ninety years ago, on November 6th, my great, great, great grandfather and grandmother and their two children arrived in New York City from Germany. They came to America seeking opportunity and freedom. They initially settled at 196 Hudson Street and opened the first Martin Guitar workshop in the new world. I was looking for a way for us to celebrate this milestone. In 1976 (the anniversary of the founding of our nation) we introduced the D-19. It was designed as an upmarket D-18. We stained the top to utilize Sitka spruce that was cosmetically challenged. An early nod to sustainability. I thought it would be appropriate to dust off that model designation and make 190 contemporary D-19’s to honor our 190th anniversary. This model also embraces sustainability by utilizing cosmetically challenged Adirondack spruce tops that we have had in inventory for a while. We applied a digital microburst to the top to achieve a figured mahogany look. Hope you like it.”— C. F. Martin IV

But this model is so much more than just sustainable. Adirondack spruce is one of the best and most expensive woods for acoustic guitar tops. Being so expensive, end users usually expect perfection from an Adirondack top. Both, structurally and visually. Therefore, visually flawed (or challenged) pieces usually don’t get used. Using their stock of “nasty” Adirondack tops and covering them up with a print of a pretty Mahogany top, Martin can make Adirondack topped guitars available to guitarists who could usually not afford such an amazing tonewood on their instruments. To top things off, this model comes with a Guatemalan Rosewood Fretboard and Bridge. There will only be 190 pieces of this guitar worldwide!

A truly unique opportunity to get such a wonderful guitar at this price – Don’t miss out!
